I just got word that the poor dog is living in a city condominium with no fenced yard – spends 8-10 hours a day confined to a crate five days a week - and owner’s work hours are increasing so she is spending even less time with the dog. The dog has been steadily deteriorating in its environment – once housebroken, she is reverting to urinating in the house and is moody and unpredictable, according to the owner. This is sheer torture to keep an active, working breed in a city condominium, crated excessive amounts of time, without proper access to outside or to doing what they loved to do – herd!
